Undurraga T. H. Terroir Hunter Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

Alto Maipo, Valle del Maipo, Region del Valle Central, ChileThis wine is another example of how blind and frankly unfair retailers have been to Chilean wine producers over the years, giving them limited space to sell wine, and only if the price was low enough versus the rest of the market. While importers were ignoring the real story, the Chilenas have soldiered on making a lot of fine wine, most of which no one sees in North America. The Terroir Hunter series is a prime example of what can be done in Chile, starting with an intense, smoky, cassis cabernet nose and fabulous texture. The attack slips along the palate awash in bright fruit and spice with a floral, peppery mineral undertone. It is an impressive red wine that should age well for another five years. If you must open it now, try it with grilled meats.Tasted: 31 October 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
