Quails' Gate Pinot Noir 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA blend of 93 percent pinot noir and 7 percent gamay. After a five day cold soak, this was fermented over several weeks by a combination of indigenous and cultivated yeasts before aging in French oak barrels for ten months. The result is an earthy, savoury style of pinot with underbrush and ripe red fruits framed by some nicely integrated oak spice. The tannins are fine and supple, with juicy acidity. In short, everything you want from pinot noir, especially at this price. It's just lacking a little perfume and fruit definition to take this to the next level.Tasted: 07 February 2020Tasted by: Prices:
