Pétales d'Osoyoos 2016

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaPétales is never as big or reserved at its big brother Osoyoos Larose, but that is the definition of a second wine. The mostly merlot blend has cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot and malbec splashed in. The certain freshness in 2016 suggests it is from BC, bringing along the finesse I have come to expect from the ageing Osoyoos Larose vineyard. It’s pleasantly drier than 2015, with more Bordeaux and less Napa in the glass. I love the combination of plummy fruit and dusty tannins, although it is a little less intense than previous years. You will be able to drink this much earlier in its life, as early as 2020, with a favourite piece of grilled beef.Tasted: 04 October 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
