M. Chapoutier Crozes-Hermitage Les Meysonniers Blanc 2018

Crozes Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceLes Meysonniers is not a single plot but a collection of sites located on the lower slopes and the flats just south and east of the hill of Hermitage. The soil is composed of Isère River sedimentary soils, and large, round pebbles. The 20- 40-year-old vines are at the centre of this Crozes-Hermitage Blanc, a 100 percent marsanne that is 90+ percent stainless steel fermented. Expect a pale yellow colour with flecks of green. Floral and quince wafts from the glass, with a creamy, brioche, nutty finish. An electric wine that is all Chapoutier. The name of the Crozes-Hermitage appellation comes from the Latin “Crozem,” which means ”Croix” in French. ”Croix” has two meanings: cross or intersection.
