Quails' Gate Riesling B.M.V. 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaBoucherie Mountain Vineyard, or BMV, is part of the origins of Quails’ Gate Family Estate, and its earliest riesling plantings. It’s a mix of clone 21B off the original Westbank site mixed with clone 49 grown in East Kelowna, all fermented two months with indigenous yeast in neutral oak barrels, leaving the wine weighty yet nimble. Look for fragrant aromas of white peach, lime, green apple, and nectarine with a touch of residual sugar to counterbalance the acidity and electricity that runs throughout. Barrel fermentation adds richness, but a stony undercurrent keeps it all fresh and linear. BMV is part of the highly successful Collector Series, which means there isn’t very much to buy.
