Meyer Gewurztraminer 2018

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFragrant lychee, gooseberry, lime blossom and pith jump from the glass of this McLean Creek Road Vineyard gew. The estate Okanagan Falls site, well known for its classic pinot noir and chardonnay, also surprises annually with this darling little gewürztraminer. Planted in 1994 on gravel sandy loams, this was farmed with organic practices, partially whole bunch pressed and partial skin contact for 24 hours, before a gentle press in stainless and older French oak barrels (no MLF). The wine remained there on fine lees for a further 3 months before bottling. There's an oily slick to the palate, gliding the perfumed yellow fruits to a snappy, soap kissed, slightly sweet finish. Gew's breadth is slimmed into 13 degrees here, and while acidity is low, the RS is held low also.Tasted: 24 September 2019Tasted by: Prices:
