Navarra and Basque Country, SpainLe Naturel is, as the name suggests, a low-intervention wine from the good folks at Vintae. It's a garnacha-led red blend from Navarra's mountainous northern border, surrounded by the Urbasa and Andia ranges. Organically farmed from high-altitude, calcareous, clay soils, the grapes undergo a short maceration before fermentation in 12,000-litre vats and bottling the following January. Fresh and spritely, with anise, young raspberry, primary cherry, and red florals. Grenache's warmth is felt just on the very finish, at 14 degrees. Tannins are raspy and raw, and acidity is crunchy and bright.
