Haywire Gamay Noir Rosé 2018

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThis year's gamay rosé comes entirely from Haywire's estate Secrest Mountain Vineyard, a high-altitude, organically farmed site just north of Oliver, layered with coarse gravels, sandy loam, and limestone laced soils. This was native fermented in a mix of steel and concrete where it remained on lees for a short stint before bottling. Pouring a glowing peach hue, this blushes with wild strawberry, and peppery raspberries on a juicy, medium-bodied, dry palate, slicked with a fine cushion of lees. There's a lovely dried sage that lingers on the stony finish, welcoming both pairing and solo sipping.Tasted: 05 September 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
