Medici Ermete Daphne Malvasia Secco 2017

Emilia-Romagna, ItalyDOC Colli di Scandiano e di Canossa, like neighbouring Emilia-Romagna DOC Lambrusco, is a sparkling-focused appellation. The Medici family has been producing quality sparkling wine since the beginning, and today is in the hands of the 4th generation. This is from Malvasia di Candia, grown on the clay soils of La Rampata, and naturally fermented for first fermentation before heading into charmat tanks for the sparkle. Intense elderflower, orange blossoms, ripe peach, and fennel float on a delicately frothy, lightly sweet palate, the result of being left with 11g/l RS. Lingering citrus blossoms trail out the finish. Very pretty and elegant, this is a wonderful alternative to prosecco, particularly for brunch, tea, or light citrus desserts.Tasted: 31 August 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
