Marc Deschamps Les Porcheronnes Pouilly Fumé 2018

Pouilly-Fume, Upper Loire, Loire, FranceEnergy up front, with smoked stone, flint, medicinal white cherry, and potent, focused lemon to lead. This powerful, fuller-bodied wine can take the intensity, gobbling up a palate of tangerine, pear, guava, white grapefruit, and a gobsmacking 15 degrees of alcohol, and giving out ample crushed rock, flinty puffs of smoke, and a lingering lemon pith on the back end. The grapes are sourced from numerous clay and limestone hilltops in Les Loges, specifically La Cote and Les Griottes, both averaging 20 years in vine age. Striking now, this will certainly evolve with cellaring.Tasted: 13 July 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
