Howling Bluff Pinot Noir Century Block 2016

Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAppealing soft ruby colour activates the senses, as do emphatic spicy, high-toned oak, plum and cherry aromas. My blind tasting notes say, ‘clear winner’, my comment added after tasting the entire flight of Pinots. The flavours are a lovely spread of ripe strawberries, delicate notes of thyme, French baking spices and fine vanilla. The mouth is filled with exuberant fruit, rounded moderate tannins, and bold oak, all kept fresh and lively with zingy acidity. A confident Okanagan pinot noir, with lavish oak that sits comfortably in the wine. Showing a bit young and tight still, let it breathe in a nice big glass before enjoying with lamb chops, or a seared sockeye salmon fillet.Tasted: 19 July 2019Tasted by: DJ KearneyPrices:
