Bottega Viognier 2017

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSourced from Osoyoos (40 percent) and Naramata (60 percent), the Osoyoos fruit was crushed and left on the skins overnight before pressing while the Naramata fruit was directly whole cluster pressed. Fermentation was by cultured yeast, with the wine fermented and matured in stainless for five months before bottling. Not the most aromatic nose, but there is viognier’s characteristic ripe apricot, even if it comes across slightly muddled. The wine has some freshness, which is always a challenge with this grape as it can quickly end up soft and flabby. A relatively short finish, with some bitterness.Tasted: 13 July 2019Tasted by: Geoffrey Moss MWPrices:
