Beaufort Petite Milo 2018

Saanich Peninsula, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, CanadaPetite Milo is a "Blattner hybrid", Swiss-designed, and bred to tackle wet, cool conditions, like here on the marine west coast. It is very Blattner-esque, with sour, tart, steely flavours. These grapes come from Saanich, were stainless fermented and bottled without fining. Clinical cool, with yellow apple, pear butter, hedge, and a smack of candied gummies that sweetens the warm, drying finish, leaving it somewhat disjointed. There is plenty of promise here, and with a few tweaks, it could be considerably more nimble. Best now with pan-seared scallops. Oh and ditch the synthetic cork for a screwcap to protect the fragile aromas of this grape.Tasted: 18 July 2019Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
