Painted Rock Rosé 2018

Skaha Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMedium pink in hue, this rosé packs a punch, like all of Painted Rock's wines. The 2018 is a blend of 41% Merlot, 21% Syrah, 15% Petit Verdot, 10% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc, mostly saignée method, concentrating their muscular red wines. This is intense, with sweet cherry, red currant, rhubarb compote and light spice, on a hot (14.4 degrees declared), glycerin palate. Even with a brisk chill, this is a wallop. I reckon skirt steak or tuna steak would meet this pink. Old school.Tasted: 22 June 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
