Mission Hill Reserve Meritage White 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada2018 began earlier than usual due to above-average growing degree days in the spring. Summer arrived with cooler temperatures, encouraging the fruit to develop beautiful acidity, while allowing more time for full flavour retention. This was followed by a very cool September slowing sugar accumulation and allowing the fruit to develop phenologically. This Reserve White Meritage is grown on two estate vineyards in Oliver, with more than 60 unique individual blocks, and in their Osoyoos vineyard, providing more than 200 frost-free days. I have tasted this wine several times and can say I'm impressed by yet another Mission Hill Reserve. The attack is bright and fresh, full of grapefruit with a dusting of ripe apricot, but it's the balance and linear vibrant back end that seals the deal. The blend is 51% sauvignon blanc, 49% semillon. Thirty percent is fermented in wood (13% new, 17% neutral) with another six% fermented in concrete. Try this with seafood.Tasted: 04 June 2019Tasted by: Prices:
