The fruit is all estate grown, harvested from the Home Block, Block 1. Winemaker Taylor Whelan makes two passes to get the juicy, flavourful pink to be all that it can be. It’s partially native fermented in neutral oak after a short one hour of skin contact. Three months on the lees, attention folks three months on the lees, builds creamy textures that are as light as pillows. Look for spicy, wild strawberries and Bing cherry with a squeeze of tangerine tempered with a savoury, sagebrush, northern Okanagan undercurrent. Harvested in two picks, and partially native fermented in neutral oak, this took just one hour in contact with the pinot noir skins to transmit the lovely, gentle pink hue. Three months on the lees added a fine cushion of lees to the medium-bodied palate, elongating this in the mouth to a lingering, moreish finish. Wild strawberries, spice, cherry blossoms and a refreshing tangerine astringency keeps things fresh and buoyant, while a vein of savoury stones grounds this.
