C.C. Jentsch Small Lot Series Malbec 2016

Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Small Lot Series is serious stuff at C.C. Jentsch. This 100 percent malbec is a mix of two sites: 66% Golden Mile Bench Vineyard, and 34% Testalinden Creek Vineyard. The ferment and maceration is just over two weeks, and the ageing is 13.5 months in Hungarian and American oak barrels. The attack is juicy and soft with rich, savoury black fruit spilling all across your palate. Floral black cherries and peppery spice mark the long, warm finish. Just a baby, but you could enjoy it now with lamb or beef. A rarity in BC, but one we could get used to real fast. Well done.
