Blue Mountain Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAs the sauvignon blanc vines settle in on one dozen years, this might be the best BM savvy I have tasted. The grapes, two French clones, are fermented with native yeasts in a combination of stainless and French oak, the latter adding some weight and mouthfeel before another five months in stainless steel, foudre, puncheons and older barrels. In 2018 the energy was retained, and the wine further leaned out to give freshness and the precision I love. Pears, citrus, white peaches: it is all here in this tight, compact white that finishes with just the right amount of weight and texture. Most seafood works here and if the adornments are creamy and fatty, so much the better. Bravo.Tasted: 25 June 2019Tasted by: Prices:
