Tantalus Old Vines Riesling 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Old Vines is aptly named, referencing its near heritage (for BC) vine status with estate plantings from 1978. Block 5 is a north-facing, deep silty soiled site, and is bordered to the west by a bank of mature Ponderosa Pine. This was fermented to near dryness in stainless, the savoury potency of the old vines allowed centre stage. Lime oil, medicinal white cherry, pear skin, streams along a stony riverbed, bracketed with textural dry extract, to a very lengthy, broken slate finish. Very intense; drinking well now, but certainly one for the cellar.Tasted: 05 July 2019Tasted by: Prices:
