Chic Fille Pinot Gris 2018

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaChic Fille (translating as cool girl) is Heidi Noble's natural wine side project, and this year she's released two wines in the line, this amber gris, as well as a pinot noir rosé. Peach in hue, this pinot gris comes from Skaha Bluff's Lakeside Vineyard, was destemmed and soaked with skins for three days before a light pressing, bringing some of gris' skin tannins along for the cool settling and native ferment in barrel. It was left on gross lees in barrel before bottling, unfiltered, and with minimal sulphur. Apricot, peach, kiwi is cured with astringent orchard fruit peels, and scented with floral apple and pear blossoms on the watery palate. This finishes with a gentle bergamot hug. Bone dry, with lowish acidity, though feels tight and scripted from the time with skins.Tasted: 23 May 2019Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
