Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Botrytis Affected Late Harvest Riesling is new to the Spearhead lineup, picked November 15 from Spearhead's Orchard Block Riesling. The young fruit was foot tread in the picking bins, detaching the rich juice from the dehydrated raisin-like grapes. The colour is gold, and the nose full with tropical apricot and honeyed, botrytized, marmalade notes. The attack is more of the same with a surprisingly good balance. It's creamy, if not unctuous, but never cloying, making it fun to sip. Perfect for crème brûlée or tarte tatin.
