Gérard Bertrand Grand Terroir Tautavel 2016

Tautavel, Côtes du Roussillon Villages, Roussillon, Sud de France, FranceTautavel is a village in the Roussillon region, located between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, said to be recognized as one of the cradles of human civilization. The vineyard is planted on pebbly, limestone-rich terraces with syrah, grenache, and carignan facing south-east. The nose is a subtle mix of Languedoc scrubland (garrigue) mixed with floral blackberry, black raspberry, and licorice notes. Warm and juicy, the attack is more of the same with liquorice, meat, black raspberry jam, roasted coffee bean. This wine is always big and showy at this stage, but it will age effortlessly for seven to ten years. The mix this vintage is is 70/20/10 grenache, syrah, and carignan. Perfect for winter stews, grilled peppers or with dried fruits and fine cheeses. Extraordinary value.Tasted: 23 April 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
