Limoux, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceDomaine de l'Aigle is a 47‐hectare estate located in the northernmost part of the Haute Vallée de l'Aude winemaking region, ranging between 250 and 500 metres above sea level. The vineyards are home to both chardonnay and pinot noir. L’Aigle Royal comes off a block of vines, rooted in clay‐limestone soil that faces south, at the property's highest elevation. Royal will surprise even the most skeptical of wine tasters with its freshness and spicy red fruit nuances. It’s the Languedoc, and there is that sauvage scent that permeates the wines but not to its detriment. The palate is fresh and juicy, reminiscent of wild plums and redcurrants flecked with game and earth. The textures are rich and round in the Pommard style.
