Meyer Family Vineyards Chardonnay McLean Creek Road Vineyard 2017

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaMeyer winemaker Chris Carson runs the chardonnay directly to press for a long, cool gentle pressing regime where only the purest, free-run juice from the early stages of the pressing are retained. The ferment begins in stainless steel with indigenous and cultured yeasts, and it remains there for most of the fermentation before it is moved to French oak (18 percent new) to complete. The wine sits on lees for 11 months without battonage while undergoing a natural malolactic fermentation. McLean Creek Road Vineyard chardonnay was planted in 1994 on two very different estate blocks, adding additional character to this impressive chardonnay. Citrus, nutty mineral, stony flavours attract before riding a long, linear palate of Okanagan freshness. Well done.Tasted: 30 March 2019Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
