Kitsch Esther's Block Riesling 2017

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaKitsch came out of the gate strong four vintages ago with their laser rieslings, as well as their packaging progress (SAXX underwear are a past enterprise of 4th gen Kelownans Ria and Trent Kitsch). They're building on their riesling roots with a pair of single block riesling released from the 2017 vintage. Esther's Block, like the sibling Maria's Block, is clone 239, planted in 2013 on the home estate's clay and limestone soils. This was whole bunch pressed, fermented in stainless over 25 days before 90 days of lees contact in tank. Tight, nervy and finely textured, this hums with energy along a narrow frame led by green apple and followed in line by apricot, peach, lime peel and closed with ginger. Concentrated, streamlined, and dryish (8.4 g/l), this is an energetic youthful riesling, the dryer of the two rieslings released in 2017.Tasted: 25 January 2019Tasted by: Prices:
