Moon Curser Tannat 2014

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAll of tannat's trademark tannins are on full display in this rustic red. Moon Curser was the first winery to plant tannat in BC in 2005 at their sandy soiled Osoyoos Home Vineyard in Osoyoos. Fermented warm in 5000L stainless, with thrice daily pumpovers, this then went on to age in French oak barrels (25 percent new) until spring 2016. Roasted coffee, bitter black cherry, black earth are held between hard pressed tannins, choking out the finish. Intense and overwrought, this needs equally rustic and potent foodstuffs to mitigate - think beef or lamb stew.Tasted: 29 November 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
