Gusbourne Blanc de Blancs 2013

EnglandThere are rare few places where sparkling wines can meet the quality of Champagne. England is one. And Gusbourne is one of her top traditional method producers. Riveting lemon-laced and filigreed acidity lifts the chalky, stony, green apple and meringue base. Acidity skips this sleek wine along a vibrating palate to a lingering lemon pith finish. A small proportion of this was aged in oak barrels, went through full MLF, and spent 36 months on the lees before bottling. Dosage is 9 g/l, and barely felt at all. Precise, lengthy, memorable, and impressive.Tasted: 09 November 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
