Guado al Tasso Bolgheri Superiore 2015
Tuscany, ItalyThe evolution of Guado al Tasso has been subtle over the years but removing the syrah from the blend in 2007 has reshaped this wine for the better. The current mix is 55/20/18/2/ cabernet sauvignon, merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot, all of which are thriving in the Bolgheri amphitheatre. We love the freshness and vibrancy in what could be the biggest structured Quado ever, certainly since 2011. The attack is similarly pure and impressive but with less oak and sweet fruit and more mineral, salty, savoury marine notes. It truly becoming a wine of place. It’s a terrific year for blended Tuscan reds and this will be one of the best, two decades down the road.
