Batasiolo Barolo

Batasiolo Barolo 2014

Piedmont, ItalyWe love how the newer Barolo vintages are so much cleaner and appealing on the nose and the palate – it is a long way from the old, earthy, barnyard, leathery wines that ruled the day in Barolo from the 70s through the 90s and beyond. Look for a light-ish colour, and an elegant mix of freshness, cranberries, cherries, violets with some resiny, savoury, tar notes before the long, lean, fine-grained tannins kick into the finish. Steak tartare is the choice today, but why not cellar this through 2022.Tasted: 05 November 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices: BC 36.99 BCLS AB 32.99 private wine shops ON 29.95 LCBO QC 28.95 SAQ Producer: Beni di BatasioloDistributors: Charton-Hobbs
