Tenuta Sant'Antonio Scaia Corvina 2015

Veneto, ItalyThe Scaia fruit, corvina, comes of two Verona sites between 200-300 metres above sea level. The first site is medium-textured with a gravel sub-base, the second is a sandy, silty block with fossilised limestone. The ferment is all stainless steel with weekly bâtonnage until bottling. The result is a pretty, fresh, bright, juicy red that is a definite upgrade over wines of the past, including an innovative Vinolok glass stopper top. I love the floral, cherry, plumy fruit nose and palate with a long silky juicy vibrant finish flecked with black raspberries. Think risotto, meat dumplings, chicken or bean dishes.Tasted: 18 October 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
