Synchromesh Wines Thorny Vines Riesling 2017
Naramata Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaSynchromesh, and founder / winemaker / powered by riesling inspirer Alan Dickinson, has earned the title as THE riesling producer in Canada, on par with the best anywhere. Thorny Vines vineyard is at the very southern end of the Naramata Bench, facing north and planted to 21B in 2010 on fertile heavy clay. Juicy, with medicinal lemon, white cherry, pear, laced with grapefruit pith, and cored with mandarin. Slight earthy, savoury botrytis lick to my palate, with some honey crisp crunchy BC apple acidity profiling. Alan has now dialled in this property, and it shows.
