Synchromesh Storm Haven Vineyard Pinot Noir 2017

Okanagan Falls, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThough Alan Dickinson and Synchromesh is legend for riesling, they also produce high quality reds, like this estate single vineyard pinot noir, a blend of clones 777, 114 and 667. Alan made the decision to bottle this under the white label in 2017 because he incorporated some of his younger fruit in the mix, planted in 2014. Entirely different from the brooding, muscular 2016, this youthful, wild wine carries light earth, tight plum, raspberry and a rinse of VA, bundled in a light (10.6 degree), grippy style. Charcoal dust lingers on the finish. Entirely whole cluster, this rested in 50 percent new oak to counter the sharpness, smartly. Fun to drink now with a chill, and one to watch in future; unique for the Okanagan.Tasted: 15 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
