Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOld vines (riesling clone 21B planted in 1978) and certified Demeter biodynamic vineyards are at the heart of this riesling, fermented outdoors with the ambient vineyard yeasts in the Summerhill Vineyard in 2017. The fruit is whole cluster pressed and fermented cold and left with a healthy dose of sugar (25.9 g/L RS) to counter its naturally crisp acidity (9.8 TA). I’m impressed with how this wine has evolved in bottles putting on a little weight and intensifying its bright, stony, lime. It is a real treat, and at 11.4 alcohol, you can almost gulp it. Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaFrom their estate 1977 planting of clone 21B Riesling, this biodynamic riesling was native fermented in stainless, arrested with chilling when the desired sugar / acid level was achieved. This year was 25.9 g/L RS, 9.8 TA, and 11.4%. Now, with a couple of years' age, is showing beautifully, with pulpy lime, white pepper, pear on a shining, off-dry palate. It’s off dry, but vibrant with complex notes of honey, lemon, peach and river stones.
