Rieslingfreak No. 4 Eden Valley 2017

Eden Valley, South Australia, AustraliaThe 2017 No. 4 Riesling was sourced from three vineyards in Eden, and is representative of the region's crushed stone, talc and lime-laden character. Subtle on the nose, and still reserved on the palate, this youthful wine is quite closed upon opening, with key lime, lime pith, pear skin, Asian pear, yellow apple poking out when the glass warms some, finishing with kisses of anise. Bone dry, with a talc dusting, this has racy acidity holding tight the palate taut and long. Hinting at the potential to come, this dry, savoury / severe wine well shows John Hughes' deft hand and touch with the grape.Tasted: 08 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
