Marchese Antinori Chianti Classico Riserva 2015

Tuscany, ItalyThe Marchese Antinori is a historic wine of the house, and since 2011 has been sourced from the legendary Tignanello estate, in the heart of the Chianti Classico zone. This sangiovese is tipped with 10% cabernet sauvignon, fermented in stainless and then moved to a year in large French and Hungarian oak barrels. After bottling, it was aged for another year in bottle prior to release. Rich and sultry in the glass, with ripe wild plums, dried black cherry, and wild cassis flooding the supple and expansive palate. The ample, firm tannins are well absorbed into the velveteen fruit, leaving a plush sensation through the lengthy, pencil shaving finish. Drinking well now, as expected, even from the warm 2015 year, this will continue to plateau for the next few years in the cellar.Tasted: 04 February 2021Tasted by: Prices:
