Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard White Bones Vino de Parcela Chardonnay 2015

Gualtallary, Tupungato, Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaThe Adrianna vineyard is located at almost 1450 metres elevation in the Gualtallary sub-district of the Tupungato region. Like White Stones, White Bones comes from select rows within Block 1 of Adrianna Vineyard layered with calcareous deposits and limestone as well as fossilized animal bones, remnants of a river that used to pass through the region. It’s all chardonnay, cold settled and wild yeast fermented in stainless steel and French oak for up to three months. It's a rinse and repeat of White Stones but with even more complexity and substance. The nose is an intense mix of floral notes mixed with native high scrub and a strong jarilla character. I love the precision of citrus and acidity with a dash of salt, quince and green fig. White Bones sits only 100m away from White Stones, but this is the jewel of Argentine chardonnay. Electric to say the least.Tasted: 11 October 2018Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
