This cooler, fog-blanketed and limestone-laden site is planted to clones 4, 76, 96, Wente, and spent six months in wood, 83 French (the remainder American) and 21 percent new. There's a lovely lemon freshness that raises this richer white, near 15 declared degrees. Downy lees beds the palate, accented with nutmeg and hazelnut, grounded by cool pear and green apple, and lingering with perfumed vanilla.
