Beringer Knights Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Knights Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesPotent red and black fruits fill this rich yet restrained Knights Valley cabernet sauvignon, owned and farmed by the Beringer family since the mid 1960s. The cobbled alluvial soils and special site of the 600 acre Knights Valley vineyard led the winery to use it as a designation on a Beringer label in 1974, and the family was instrumental in garnering official AVA status for the area in 1983. This sees small parts cabernet franc, merlot and petit verdot blended into the cabernet sauvignon, kept in barrel for 16 months (30 percent new), layering savoury cherry, mocha, leather, blackberry along the plush, long palate. Tannins are smoothed and perfectly pitched for the fruit. For drinking now.Tasted: 05 October 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
