Zuccardi Q Malbec Paraje Altamira and Vista Flores 2016

Valle de Uco, Tunuyán, Central Region, Mendoza, ArgentinaFrom high altitude sites in the Uco Valley, the two Q, quality blocks, used here are in Altamira and Vista Flores. The wine has a terrific demeanour, soft and generous on the palate but as winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi likes to say, “with no sweetness.” The wine is native fermented and spent 20 days on skins before going through a mix of concrete and oak aging to build structure. I love the floral tones, the ripe fruit blue and black, and the suave tannins that combine effortlessly to add layers of flavour to this malbec. Food friendly and ready to drink, though you could cellar this a decade. Fine value, but unbelievably not listed in government stores.Tasted: 30 November 2018Tasted by: Prices:
