CedarCreek The Senator Red 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA tribute to Senator Ross Fitzpatrick, founder of CedarCreek Vineyard in 1986, this is a blend of estate cabernet franc, cabernet sauvignon, syrah and merlot sourced from numerous vineyards. Fermented in stainless before 16 months in French oak, this is a deep, plush red, soft on the palate with brambles and baking spices. Tannins are tuggy and worked soft, and the finish is cinnamon heart warm. I like the prevalence of cabernet franc here (40 percent), imparting a branchy earthiness to what is otherwise a soft, dark fruited wine.Tasted: 15 March 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
