Pixide Tempranillo 2013

Ribera del Duero, Castilla-Leon, SpainDense, thick and meaty, typically Ribera del Duero, this is 25-50 year old bush vine tinto fino (tempranillo) from the clay-limestone soils of Tubilla del Lago, and over 850m altitude. After a week maceration and fermentation in stainless, this spent six months in 1-2 year old oak, 90 percent of which is French and the remainder American. Dark spicy red fruit, black plums, forest berries fills the compact palate, short and muscular and sulky. Tannins are thick and a bit ropey, making this potent wine a great match for lamb or wild boar.Tasted: 07 February 2018Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
