Muga Rioja Rosado 2016

Rioja, SpainThe Muga rosado, a 60/30/10 mix of garnacha, viura and tempranillo, is delicious. The fruit grows on chalky/clay and alluvial soils and the result is refreshing. The wine gets a 12-hour maceration where it extracts the perfect Provencal eye of the partridge colouring before spending 15-20 days fermenting in small wooden vats. It’s left on its fine lees where it is worked for some three months to add a layer of complexity. Pear, apricot, citrus, watermelon all fill a cool, mineral palate. Fish cakes, sushi, chicken, they all work here. Well done and super value too.Tasted: 17 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
