Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru 2011

Chablis, Burgundy, FranceIt’s such a delight to taste a Grand Cru with a glimpse of age, allowing it to spread its wings a bit and display the power of its Cru. Brocard is all but natural across his 200 hectares, seventy percent of which is now certified organic (80 hectares are certified biodynamic) and that number is growing yearly. Intensity is what you first notice along with the classic leesy, chalky, floral notes. Time in foudres brings richness and girth, at least in a Chablis kind of way, with juicy apple, lemon, mineral, spicy green apple flavours. Long, intense, floral, smoky chalky finish. Serve with fish, chicken or cheese. Impressive.Tasted: 22 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
