Champagne Gosset Celebris Rosé Extra Brut 2007

Champagne, FranceThe ’07 Celebris Rosé comes with a modest four grams of sugar, pointing to a serious bottle of pink. Expect an enticing, super pale pink colour with floral/red fruit overtones. The attack is fresh and dry with impressive raspberry, strawberry demonstrating both power and elegance with an undercurrent of citrus and grapefruit and minerality from the Côte des Blancs chardonnay in the mix. The blend is 59/41 chardonnay/pinot noir, with seven percent still pinot noir and is made without malolactic fermentation. It’s aged six years before disgorging. Rich enough for tuna and salmon, and delicate enough for prawns or fruity desserts. Drink or hold, it's your choice. Gosset, located in the miniscule Grand Cru village of Aÿ is the oldest known Champagne producer with origins back to 1584. Since 1994 the Frapin Cognac house has owned Gosset with Jean Pierre Cointreau running both companies.Tasted: 09 December 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
