Tall Tale Wines Pinot Noir Blanc 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaTall Tale Wines was established in 2016 by siblings Kyle and Kirstin Lyons, who both obviously have the gene for spinning tall tales : "Planted in 2014, our old vines vineyard grows on soils imported from Jura... " spins one of the yarns on the back label. This is a blush peach hued, off-dry wine, textured with honeycomb and flushed with ripe pear, apricot, gingerale and cut with a swath of vinegar -- the whole all kept afloat with a wash of acidity. It's impossible to peg this as pinot noir. Pinot gris perhaps? Sweet and sour, regardless. More reminiscent of an Alsatian gris than any noir I've ever seen.Tasted: 10 October 2017Tasted by: Treve RingPrices:
