Sperling Vineyards Amber Pinot Gris 2016

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOrange, or amber, wines are popping up all over BC. The Sperling is pinot gris, 40 percent whole cluster, 40 percent whole berry and 20 percent pressed juice. It’s described as natural wine, a nod to its indigenous yeast and that fact no sulphite or other additives are added to the wine, and it is bottled under screwcap with no fining or filtration. It is slightly cloudy, textural and grippy, with apricot skin, well-steeped bergamot tea, broken stone on the dry palate. Best served slightly chilled and give it 20-30 minutes to open in the glass. A perfect match for vegetarian dishes but it's just as good with pulled pork.Tasted: 05 October 2017Tasted by: Treve Ring & Anthony GismondiPrices:
