Southbrook Poetica Chardonnay 2013
Four Mile Creek, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, CanadaGolden yellow, with ripe, yellow apple, dense and thick on the palate. The wood is overriding at present, creating a coating of spices on the finish. Orange, cream, hazelnuts rule the ripe, sun-sweet and full bodied palate, with a warm flush on the finish that reminds of California. Certified organic and biodynamic, this was wild fermented in French oak (70 percent new) where it spent 11 months before being bottled.
