Quails' Gate Syrah The Boswell 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe Boswell is part of the Quails’ Gate Collector Series, and in 2015 you might want to consider collecting a few bottles. The Boswell label honours the family's grandparents and is made in limited quantities; only 24 barrels were made this vintage. The nose is an enticing mix of floral, lavender and violets, with that cool climate white pepper and spice that keeps the fruit in check but never buries it. The palate is juicy and dry with silky/leathery tannins throughout the finish and the oak is more seamless this year. The vineyard block sits at the base of the West Kelowna, nearest the lake, and is the perfect spot to take advantage of the late day katabatic winds that flush the heat out of the vineyard, contributing t a complex syrah capable of many years bottle age. Lamb, venison, or aged hard cheeses all work here.Tasted: 11 October 2017Tasted by: Prices:
