Ex Nihilo Pinot Noir 2016
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaA fine improvement here over last year. So much fresher and brighter, this 2016 is very Lake Country pinot. The fruit comes off two northern sites: Rise Vineyard and the Ex Nihilo in Lake Country, and goes through whole berry fermentation in stainless steel tanks before being aged nine months in French oak barrels (20 percent new). The nose is an enticing mix of bright plums and cherries with savoury, spicy, tobacco that rides the smooth silky tannins through the finish. Juicy and drinkable, this would be fun to have with some of amazing pork dishes at Mott 32.
