Coolshanagh Pinot Noir 2015

Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIt’s our first look at the Coolshanagh pinot and we sure like what we taste. Coolshanagh is owned by Skip and Judy Stothert. The wine is made at Okanagan Crush Pad by winemaker Matt Dumayne, who has a long history of making pinot noir in New Zealand, Oregon and British Columbia, inspired by the minimalist techniques of Burgundy. There is something to be said about clean wine in that it sets the stage to taste the real wine: a cool, red-fruited spicy pinot with a silky texture that makes me think of cru Beaujolais freshness and minerality with the charm and finesse of Côte de Beaune. Of course, the wine is all Naramata with its signature piney/sagebrush savoury undercurrent. Drink or hold for three to five years.Tasted: 20 October 2017Tasted by: Anthony GismondiPrices:
